Event Recording policy
I. Use Grant and Participation
Sound of Earth (“SOE”) organizes and/or sponsors events (“SOE Event” or “SOE Events”) attended by members of the SOE community, panelists, speakers, guests, and ticket holders (“Participants”). By participating in any SOE Event, Participants grant permission to SOE and its licensees, successors, and assigns to copyright, use, reuse, publish, and republish any photograph, video, and/or voice recording taken of them by SOE or those commissioned by SOE. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to create derivative works from, distribute, perform, display, and otherwise use all or any part of such Participants' names, likenesses, photographs, voices, and images in materials generated at the event, without limitation, anywhere in the world, in any form (tangible or intangible, permanent or ephemeral), and via any transmission medium (including, without limitation, television, radio, Internet, and print) now existing or that may exist in the future, for advertising, trade, promotion, publicity, and other related purposes without compensation and without notice to or consideration, review, or approval from the Participant. This right applies to any reproductions in any form (including, without limitation, electronic form) used alone, in a composite, or with any printed matter or advertising copy, for any purpose of trade, advertising, publicity, promotion, or education, without restrictions or limitations.Each Participant further agrees to (i) be questioned or interviewed (whether in person or by other means such as email or phone), filmed, and/or photographed and available for interviewing, filming, photography, and for other public relations, marketing, and promotional activities associated with the SOE Event attended by the Participant, as reasonably required and directed by SOE, and (ii) consents to allow SOE to make contact with the Participant (whether in person, by phone, email, or otherwise) for the purpose of requesting further information from the Participant in relation to their participation or for any other purpose related to the SOE Event attended by the Participant.As a condition of attending and participating in the SOE Event, the Participant represents and warrants that neither their participation nor SOE’s exercise of any of the rights granted under these terms will (a) infringe or violate any rights of any third party or entity, including, without limitation, those relating to patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, moral rights, defamation, privacy, publicity, false light, misappropriation, confidentiality, and/or any contractual or other rights recognizable under any applicable law, rule, regulation, ordinance, judgment, or decree (collectively, “Law”), or (b) otherwise violate any applicable Law.

‍II. Photograph, Video & Voice Recording Release

Participants irrevocably release Sound of Earth (“SOE”) and its agents from liability resulting from any distortion, blurring, alteration, optical illusion, or placement in a composite, intentional or otherwise, which may occur in the taking, processing, reproduction, publication, or distribution of such photo(s), video(s), and/or voice recording(s). Participants waive any right to approve the photographs, videos, or voice recordings or their usage. Participants understand and agree that no payments, royalties, or any other kind of material or monetary remuneration will ever be paid to them by SOE in relation to this Event Recording Policy or the use of any photographs, video, or voice recordings taken of them. This Release shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. The parties further submit to, and waive any objections to, personal jurisdiction of, and venue in, the federal and state courts sitting in Los Angeles County, California.
